Why do jobs always take so long?
A customer booked his vehicle in for a new radiator. He had found the leak, and needed to know the cost. I checked the time with our dedicated program and reported back. The book time of two and a half hours for a radiator change seemed excessive to the customer, and to us! I explained that if the time is booked at two hour plus, you can rest assured it will take us longer than that! But we will only charge the “book” time.
At Worcester’s Mobile Mechanic we operate a fair system of charging, and unless there is a major problem the book time is what we will charge, unless we do it quicker! In which case the customer gains.
When I showed the customer this picture of his car in bits, the labour charge was actually very reasonable.
Remember… A badly maintained vehicle is a breakdown waiting to happen!
