A case of bad news followed by good news

Even though the weather should be improving at this time of year (!) we are still seeing a lot of broken springs at Worcester’s Mobile Mechanic.

This car actually came in for a cam-belt change, and as it was new to our customer, she said she would rather be safe than sorry. We started the job, and after immediately spotting the broken spring, gave the customer the bad news.

She was resigned to a larger bill than originally quoted but when we took the timing cover off, it was clear the cam-belt was in good condition and the water pump was also new – it looked like the work had been done in the last 12 months.

At Worcester’s Mobile Mechanic we do not just do the job for the sake of it, so I called the customer and gave her the good news which meant she received a bill for less than she expected.
