Some of our customers are very observant when it comes to their vehicles.
This customer bought theirs in as the engine was “ticking” from the top end. On inspection, it was discovered that sometime in the past it had been neglected and the top of the engine was “coked” up.
We suggested that we also remove the sump and check the scavenge filter. This was agreed to by the customer and when we got to the offending filter, we found this too was blocked.
If left, this fault could have caused major engine wear but once rectified the engine quickly returned to its usual silent state.
