Early diagnosis would have cut costs

When a vehicle starts indicating that it has a problem, I would recommend asking a competent garage to look at the car as quickly as possible.

This vehicle’s problems began with the stop/start not working and the driver was alerted via the on board display. At this point the fault, which was the alternator not charging properly, was there.

The owner carried on driving but eventually the car’s steering was affected as it was also electric. Things went from bad to worse and the car would not start at all.

At this point, Worcester’s Mobile Mechanic was contacted and the vehicle was recovered to our workshop.

In my opinion, if this fault had been tackled as soon as it flashed up on the dashboard the job would have been less expensive.
