Spot the spark plug difference
The new spark plug is on the left of the photo so how does that compare with the ones we removed?
At Worcester’s Mobile Mechanic we do not assume the spark plugs are in good order but we also question why these plugs are like this.
With new plugs fitted, it would have been easy to send the customer away and the car would have run reasonably well for a while.
However, after the service we checked on the diagnostic computer, and whilst there were no codes on the system, it was noted that there was a pending fault.
The pending fault would cause the spark plugs to foul up and checking the live data showed the air mass meter was very slow. A new one was reasonably priced and after consulting the customer, one was fitted.
We were very pleased when the customer called us to say fuel consumption had been restored.
