We were also the only garage she spoke to who mentioned the bearing sleeve. We’re aware of at least one garage who adds this on as an unforeseen problem and then charges a lot extra for something we consider to be part of the clutch change work.
On the plus side, we charged £41 inclusive of VAT more than the other garages she contacted and included gearbox oil, the sleeve replacement and a driveshaft boot.
Once fitted, the clutch was as it should be and the entire job was completed on time and within budget.
